Sundew: The Sticky Plant With A Killer Instinct

Pimpernel sundew, a carnivorous plant with a very sophisticated trapping mechanism.

The Cape Sundew (Drosera capensis) catches gnats, fruit flies and the occasional housefly in its sticky dew. It will slowly curl around larger prey to make greater contact of the leaf for digestion. 🌱 Cape Sundews make great houseplants; happily growing on sunny windowsills or under growlights. They like lots of direct sunlight and to be sitting in a deep saucer of distilled or rain water all the time.
