The Indian 10-rupee banknote (₹ 10) is a common denomination of the Indian rupee. The ₹ 10 note was one of the first notes introduced by the Reserve Bank of India as a part of the Mahatma Gandhi Series in 1996.

The new ₹10 denomination banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series bear signature of the Governor, Reserve Bank of India. The note has motif of 'Sun Temple, Konark' on the reverse, depicting the country's cultural heritage. The base colour of the note is chocolate brown.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) introduced the series in 1996 with ₹10 and ₹500 banknotes. As of 10 November 2016, the RBI issues banknotes in this series in denominations from ₹5 to ₹100. Printing of five-notes, which had stopped earlier, restarted in 2009.

In 1950, the first Republic India banknotes were issued in the denominations of Rs. 2, 5, 10 and 100. There was slight variation in colour and design in case of Rs. 2, 5 and 100 notes. The ship motif on the reverse of Rs. 10 note was kept intact for the sake of continuity. In 1953, Hindi was displayed prominently on the new notes.
