Usually its bullcrap The only thing thats non negotiable is license, tax, registration etc. (the guvment's money) The price of the bike and the "handling fee" or "assembly" fee or whatever they want to call it, is all going to the dealer. East Bay motorsports here in the bay has some high fees sometimes.

I do think a majority of the fees were just the dealership to say look a sale and then bam there it goes out the window. Luckily there must of been a distributed local because the transportation fee was only $350. The big one was the dealership assembly or maintenance fee.

2017年9月29日 · Whenever you go to a dealer, always negotiate in terms of OTD price. 2 weeks ago I bought my first motorcycle, a '17 SV650 with ABS for just under 8k when they're normally 9 with all the fees. Whenever they come back with any higher numbers for whatever BS fees they're trying to dump on you, just respectfully refuse and hold your ground. Good luck!

Let's say someone calls me for a motorcycle that's has a MSRP of $5,000 and asks me to give them a rough out the door price. A smart shopper might pay a couple hundred more for en exceptionally fine specimen, but not double the retail value by any means. This dealership is definitely holding out for a sale to someone who hasn't done their homework.

2020年6月23日 · In my state of Ohio, it is a very consumer-friendly state for purchasing vehicles because we have a law that limits the number of dealer fees to a single, capped, "documentation fee", and every dealership charges the state maximum of $250 (or $200 for motorcycles, apparently, unless my local motorcycle dealerships are just generous).

2016年11月6日 · I have bought two used bikes from dealerships. I paid $0 in "dealership fees" on either bike. When you negotiate prices on bikes, skip the bullshit and only negotiate on the OTD price (price of the bike including taxes, doc fees, registration fees).
