2008年1月31日 · Building a masonry heater can be a DIY job. I'm not that handy and I built the core on my Temp-Cast heater. I have a friend who built the whole thing himself (also a temp-cast). There are many kits and plans out there but I'd highly recommend Temp-Cast if you are planning on DIY as the construction is greatly simplified.

Its one of those things that needs to be planned with the home construction, usually extra deep footings need to be poured and a skilled mason is needed to build it, the home needs a open & convective floor plan.

2007年12月7日 · As far as Masonry Heaters the most popular seem to be Tulikivi, Heat-Kit (Ontario), AlbieCore (Maine), and Temp-Cast (Ontario). Heat-Kit and AlbieCore are very similar. The have a few cast refractory pieces but rely for the most part on locally purchased fire brick. The material cost is very similar to Temp-Cast, but it is less DIY friendly.
