All, I tried the solution from the YouTube video. I bought a couple vivofit 1/2 straps on amazon. Cost was about $13-$14. I took a pocket knife to the corners of the “watch” portion of my vivosport. Still fully functional. And was successful in slipping the vivosport watch portion into the vivofit strap. So far, so good.

After multiple calls to Garmin Support, one of the support agents mentioned an Engineering ticket related to connection issues with Pixel 7-series phones but could not see any details.

If Garmin had replaceable bands like Fitbit, I wouldn't even be looking at the Charge 3 because I find the Garmin devices to be so much more reliable than Fitbit. But not being able to change or replace bands is a big issue. My vivosport band is also well worn down at this point after nearly a year of use and I wish I could replace it.

After restarting, I need to plug the device back in to the computer to complete the update. Garmin express is stuck waiting for these steps to be done. I can't go back to the home or do anything with the Garmin Express. I can plug the Vivosport back into the computer, but the Garmin Express doesn't continue to complete the upgrade.

In holiday times, I use the Vivosport regularly for hiking (daytrips). Apart from heart rates (which is a known problem) it seems fine. I mainly use steps, altitude, distance and GPS tracker. And verify with 2 smartphones. All are within 5%. Can you indicate which of your numbers are deviating?
