The sequel, Yakuza Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth, has a lot of the game that is dedicated to the protagonist from the earlier games and spends a looot of time on callbacks to him. You won't get nearly as much out of it if you jumped in at Like A Dragon.

2021年6月12日 · You could definitely have a good time with 7 and understand most of the key plot points, but there's still many callbacks or (towards the end of the game) outright spoilers for earlier games in terms of the setting, characters, side content, themes/parallels, etc. so its recommended to play the games in order 0 through to 7.

2024年1月6日 · If you want to properly get into the series, there are way better entry points than the 8th installment that is also heavily looking like a proper send-off for the first MC and a sequel to the new MCs first game. 0 and LaD hold up fine and are good, and if you want to properly get into the series, it makes way more sense to start with one of those.

2024年8月27日 · My point is that Yakuza 1 is Sega's clear and blatant "This is Kiryu's first game" focus. They do not want people to think Yakuza 0 is "the first Yakuza game" because it isn't. The Amazon show being a retelling of Yakuza 1 also speaks to this.
