Only down side to the e36 is if you have a Napoleon complex and have to have this big self image the e46 m3 is more attractive than the e36 to the general public. But you shouldnt be purchasing a car for an image in the first place lol. The e36 can look sick dumped on coilovers.

2007年12月18日 · Again with your limited mileage and use, in good shape any 3 series will be low maintenance. If it was me I would say e46. E30 is a great project car, but if you arent looking for a project get a newer model. e36 is good too, buy one in good shape and it will be fine. But e46 still feels new and drives and looks great.

2014年11月5日 · For some reason there is a belief because E46 is bigger that it weighs about 200 pounds more than E36, therefor drag and track racing people tend to look for a E36 project. Fact is stock to stock E46 weights about the same as E36. 2001 330ci manual. 2000 323i manual, no sunroof. These weighs are about the same as 1998 328i E36 and 1999 328is E36.

2010年10月15日 · I think the E36 M3 has better "feel" and "connectivity" to the road. I think driving an E36 M3 around a track fast could arguably be more rewarding than an E46. An E46 M3 is naturally going to be faster than an E36 M3 on track stock vs. stock, modded vs. modded. But the cost of entry is certainly higher in an E46 M3.

2009年11月25日 · Two of the most serious issues with the E46's are a problem with the rear floor pan and door seals on some models. I like the exterior and interior on the E46's better, but I like the simpler design of the E36's better. Best bet is do thorough research on both models and go with what you feel best about. Cheers.

However, the automatic transmission in an E46 is less likely to give you problems than the auto in an old E36 base model. A maintained M3 is a different story. In terms of maintenance, they're really about the same.

2005年11月9日 · E36 M3 is faster, handles better, and the parts will be cheaper. The E46 330 is not as fast, handles well but not as straight edge, more comfortable, nicer interior and newer. Also it depends on who owned the M3 before they take more of a beating then the 330s usually will. You may also be able to get a CPO 330 and still have a warranty.

Perhaps it was the lower weight, tighter suspension, harder seats, fewer electronic gizmos, better feedback, tighter and more precise steering, or a combo of things, but the E36 323, 325, and 328 were faster and A LOT more fun than their E46 counterparts.
