Anyone have experience with these pre-cut tint kits?
2016年4月14日 · I used to tint cars part-time in college and I can tell you that the trade is an art and not science. You have to know how to heat/shrink the film where necessary (due to curvatures in glass). You also need to know how to remove the film on the adhesive side of the tint without leaving fingerprints or trapping particles that causes bubbles.

I'll reluctantly have to tint it too, with the lightest possible shade (80%, I think), and all tint the highest heat-rejection available, which the shop I called says it's Lumar IRX (is that true?). But it'd be like $850, and 2/3rds of that the front and rear glasses alone.

2020年3月23日 · My mobile tint guy did that. I picked 30% front side windows, 70% windshield, and 20% under stock roof glass tint. I did not tint the hatch and rear side windows. Came out pretty good match. The shade by the 20% under the roof glass is good (just right amount of light but plenty shade to keep midday sun out).

2019年12月1日 · I have a combination of 3M and Llumar tint (what my trusted shop uses) 20% ceramic on sides and half of the rear glass (line is visible from inside, but not visible from outside) and 70% crystalline on the front windshield. The tint % is a preference, but you should consider heat rejection more than tint %.

Same goes for different product lines within the same company (e.g. 40% 3M crystalline vs 40% 3M ceramic). That being said, the top quality brands IMO are 3M Crystalline, 3M Ceramic, Forumula One, Huper Optic, and Madico Wincos.

2019年12月4日 · I wanted to tint only for heat/UV rejection but want the visibility especially from the rear window. (i tend to look for "fast moving Dodges" just out of habit). Aesthetics baah, #stealth lifestyle. I originally was going to ceramic tint 35% on only the 6 side windows but now am thinking it may be to dark and just draw unwanted attention.

2020年6月23日 · So in doing 5% on roof, did it make it much darker ? Did it help with heat ? What type of tint was used ? I was at the tint shop yesterday, they were doing a Model S and had 50% on windshield. Looked insanely cool. Dont know if it would be too dark at night, and yeah def. illegal (although its rare for a cop to have a tint tester for windshields).
