2014年5月11日 · I'm wondering if the same tool sold at the big box store and Grainger is identical. I have heard that tool makers make different grades; the top grade goes to companies that cater to contractors and government and the "regular" grade goes to everyone else.

2021年1月5日 · All big box stores have good and bad. The plywood at HD is in the bad. The hardwood dealers will also have crappy stuff. The Chinese birch is crappy at both places. But they will also have better grades. Obviously it's gonna cost more. A cheap great plywood doesn't exist.

2014年4月5日 · I already had 2 sets of saw horses. The first set, about 10 years old, were made with those handy-dandy metal leg braces from the big box. To say they limp a bit would be very, very, generous. The second set was a bit better but they didn't quite match up and, since the legs are attached solidly, they were hard to store or move.

2008年12月30日 · I have an older 1/2 HP Craftsman floor model drill press and need a chuck key. None of the ones at the big box stores (nor even Sears store) are big enough. Is there a way to determine what size of key I need? Ordering Sears Parts replacement for $25 is out of the question. I can get a whole new chuck with key for that price.

2014年11月5日 · Big box lumber is not really ever going to be straight as an arrow, or really even relatively straight. Even dimensioned lumber at lumberyards and woodworking stores cannot be counted on to be straight. Honestly, to get straight lumber, you really need to do it yourself with hand tools or with a jointer, planer, and tablesaw.

Going from a 3×6' table that couldn't be moved and was only accessible from one side to a rollable 4×8' table accessible from both sides and rearranging the tools makes my shop feel twice as big. 2017年8月2日 · We used whatever posts were least expensive at the time - oak posts and boards were green. 16'-20' posts were picked up at lumber saw mill and taken to preservative treatment company. They had big vats and they cut your posts in half (8'-10') and then chunked them in vats and we went back to get in a couple weeks - about 50-100 at a time.

2020年9月5日 · Trace the outline on the board, cut close with the bandsaw, carpet tape the template to the board and use a flush trim bit on the router table to give perfect results. Create a bullnose profile on the router table and you are good to go. I think I make my hand holds a bit deeper as well and I include some feet from the big box store.
