I would ask if the carb needles and seats have been changed, the stock ones are known for leaking fuel into the crank case, and thus hard starting.

2011年2月16日 · Lots of people will tell you xlt's suck, and many have nothing but good luck with them. 95 and 96 were the years when they ditched the 4th oil line and SOME had crank failure problems, but many went to 10000 miles with no problems. They are a decent sled, but aren't very powerful for what they were.

I was looking through the archives and saw a little "excellence award" on the 1996 XLT SP but I don't see it on any of the others. I was also curious of how the sled handles, feels and how fast it is.

I believe the XLT SP also consisted of the HO Triple, which was the polaris version of the SLP heads on it for a little more oomph. In '97 the Limited was the gen 2 chassis, the SP(special) was still a wedge chassis.
