2005年3月14日 · I'm having a hard time scraping together enough money to buy the gravel needed for the entire driveway. It's about 200 feet from top to bottom and about a 30 degree slope. I love this idea. I'm afraid though that if I just lay cardboard on the red clay mud and put down a foot of wood chips that my car would just sit there and spin.

We dumped horse manure and wood chips all over a hillside which is now an awesome garden with terraces. If there is a muddy spot - dump wood chips. If the dogs make a mess = dump wood chips on it.

2022年10月29日 · With a post hole auger, dig a hole 4 feet deep on each side of the driveway. Set your two gates so the gate posts are perfectly spaced. Pack the dirt around the gate posts. Now, out 8 feet from each gate post, auger another pair of holes 4 feet deep. Set the other 6 by 6 treated posts and pack dirt into the holes.

The problem is that the air leaves the chute so forcefully that it actually dug a hole! I know that the wood chips went somewhere, but they were so widely dispersed that raking them up was not an option.
