2008年12月1日 · • Air cleaner is stock beetle with K&N filter. I simply turned the air cleaner on it’s side and adapted it to the turbo intake. The K & N was a lucky JY find in an old golf which evidently uses the same filter as the beetle. I found a nice cylinder shaped K&N Air cleaner in the Saab, which I will eventually install just above the fan shroud.

2009年2月18日 · Simple explaination - the supercharger takes HP to make HP as it is belt driven off the crank. The turbo does not draw power from the engine, it uses the exhaust gas to create the additional HP. Simple example of performance difference - when my '68 had the DLI Blower installed on the 2276cc engine it was running 12's in the 1/4.

2014年3月24日 · Looks like I just bought an AMR500 for myself! Going on a stock 1300sp. Might have a bigger barrel kit under it but it still has the small port 1300 heads. Going to do this as a bolt on upgrade to the stock motor, low boost. Stock muffler even, I'll just swap out the peashooters for some stainless pipes. Just got to decide on a carb.

2015年7月7日 · I've just bought a kit for a 1600 dual port from joeblow.me. Not yet installed it as I'm currently building a tricksy 1600 for it to go on but it is designed for a stock engine. Also this guy has a cool thread on a not-so-stealthy 1641 install. A few also pop up on the flat 4 racers Facebook group if you're looking for inspiration.

2023年6月3日 · 2019 Beetle and “as most basic as they come” is a very strange thing to read in a sub specifically about the classic air cooled Beetles. New VWs are like rocket science compared to the old ones. You can find the kit on ECS Tuning though. Should be around $100.

2021年2月27日 · I still have the original owner’s manual for my ‘68, and the dash layout diagram shows an A/C in place, with an asterisk that it’s only available in the USA. VW even ran TV commercials advertising that A/C was available. The old commercial is on YouTube and is in that great funny advertising style that VW used to be famous for.
