2023年1月8日 · Whis said in the manga that Trunks SSJ2(not at full power) was greater than Goku's SSJ2 and then later on in the fight Trunks powered up alot more and Vegeta said Trunks is as strong as Goku SSJ3. After Goku saw how how strong Trunks was he secretly used God ki to win and Whis then commented that it was childish of Goku to do that.

2016年8月5日 · Now I still think your estimation is correct because Trunks seemed to be SSJ1 vs Dabura and he can obviously go SSJ2. I reckon Pre majin buff Vegeta would have been able to beat Dabura in SSJ1 though It might have been a work out for him, I'd put trunks between Pre majin buff and Post majin buff.

Just a little nitpick: SSJ3 Goku was somewhat stronger than SSJ2 Trunks in the manga, he didn't need the God form. Whis said Goku's use of SSG in that situation was childish since Goku could have beaten Trunks with SSJ3. Moving on from there, I've always wondered if SSJ2 could be "Mastered" in the way Goku and Gohan did with regular SSJ.

Bare in mind that when Trunks went toe-to-toe with SSJ3 Goku, Trunks was using an ascended SSJ2, not the standard SSJ2 transformation that Vegeta and Goku use- neither of the two of which have access to this form, and arguably have no need for.

Once SSJ2 was truly introduced in the Buu Saga it was decided that Vegeta wouldn't be considered hitting SSJ2 even though he should have already since he surpassed SSJ in the Cell Saga. So ultimately the answer is, he did. It was just decided later that it wasn't meant to be.

Notice how trunks keeps a similar hairstyle to in SSJ2, with it getting spikier and much sharper and more defined. Just as SSJ2 does to SSJ1 hair. And the blue in the aura could simply be the lightning effect present in SSJ2 compressed into a physical aura around him instead of intermittent sparks in his SSJ aura. Trunks achieved SSJ2 and wasn't satisfied with it's power and trained to improve it, just like they did for the original SSJ in the Cell Saga. Trunks did it with a method that seems more like SSJ Grade 4, making SSJ2 itself stronger, whereas Goku did it by finding a new form altogether.
