2022 - Most universal cross bars for Wilderness?
2022年5月15日 · Only issue is, I doubt I’ll have the time to do the research into the various roof cargo options AND put in an order for a roof rack quickly enough for it to arrive by the 27th, which is the ETA of the car. I’ll be looking for a roof rack that accommodates a cargo basket, possibly a tent down the road, and a bike or two.

2023年10月24日 · Thanks. I just also received confirmation from Thule this morning that like you said, the Subaru OEM crossbars use very outdated Tech. So weird and annoying. Yeah I think I will get the Thule Evo ones (recommended by both Thule and Rack Attack) and use the coupon like you said for oil changes, etc. Thanks so much!
2020 - Debate: Thule vs Subaru roof rack crossbars?
2020年4月1日 · Finally joining the Subaru club with a 2020 Forester Premium. I have always had Thule racks on all my cars. I currently have bike carriers that would only fit the Thule rack system and Kayak carriers that would fit both the Subaru Aero bars as well as the Thule bars. I noticed that the Subaru bars look nicer as they sit lower to the roof.

I have 66 inch Thule rectangular bars, and use the full width hauling 2 windsurfers, 2 ice boats, sailboat & spars, 4 bikes, etc. You quickly learn to watch your head. The SJ wagon is 70 inches wide, not counting the mirrors.

2019年8月4日 · Decided to utilize the T-slots within the Thule WingBar Evo cross bars extrusion. Made four aluminium base plates ( 3/8" x 4" x 5") that fasten to the cross bars. Each plate has two holes for 6mm T-bolts which attach the plate to the cross bars. There are also two 8mm holes in each plate for the bolts which attach the tent rails to the the plates.

I've narrowed it down to the Thule 450 mounts and square bars, but I don't know if I should do 58 or 65 inch bars. I borrowed a friend's 50 inch bar and looks a little too short for my needs.

2021年8月4日 · I use the OEM "Aero Cross Bars" with with a cargo basket from Reese (sister brand of Rola, I believe). Got the cross bars at the dealer - 175 before a discount - and the basket came from WalMart. It was also under $100 to purchase.
