2020年11月26日 · Due to the weight of the sand and how tight it was, it stuck pretty easily. I ended up getting the thinnest background the have, which is the rocky background and only costed me about $140. Since the tank is only 75 gallons, I couldn't waste 6 inches of space by going with a thicker background.

2021年3月8日 · I'm working on my own three dimensional Rock background for a 20 long I completely built the foam from pieces and detailed it. I'll be doing that in the next few days. But for larger tanks I've seen people use the foam insulation board and then do like I'm doing with my 3D background and shape it but knives Hot Irons and or power tools.

2021年7月15日 · If the background has a amazon sword I plant one in front of it. If it is a rock background, i use the same type in the tank. Gives much depth. I use aquariums background adhesive. It is easy to work with and remove if i Ever need to. I do have a 55 Angle fish tank no background between 2 room and it can be viewed from 3 sides.

2024年5月1日 · Looking at your picture again today, it appears that your midground plant - wood - plant _ rock arrangement is in a straight line across the tank. i.e., flat and symmetrical. Arranging the driftwood to show off more those gnarly features and add a sense of movement or time will go a long way until the plants fill in.

2023年3月1日 · One time, I had a 75 gallon with the universal rocks flat tan/ light brown background. After 6 months or so, I decided to remove the sand and replace it with something else. The portion of the background that had been buried was completely black. If the oxygen has been cut off, you’ll get pockets of anaerobic bacteria.

2021年12月4日 · I have a black background and a black lava rock substrate. I have a lot of plants in planters. I think the green of the plants shows up very well against the black background. Also the colors of the fish. You can make filter tubes, planters, lift tubes for UGFs, etc less obtrusive by painting or plasti-dipping them black.

2023年6月20日 · Yes you can. Most of the time BBQ rock is untreated and just lava rock crushed to a specific size. As always, look for the "100% lava rock" and check all labels to verify it isn't treated with anything. Secondarily you can also use pumice and do the same thing. This is very likely what ADA powersand uses.
