2010年7月7日 · Typically a new tank doesn't have a lot of waste, so likewise the bacterial capacity to process waste is small. Adding a fish increases the amount of waste being produced by a large degree, so it's likely that as the bacteria grow to accommodate the extra waste being produced there will be a "spike" in the water parameters.

Also just a suggestion but after using a raw shrimp on my first tank cycle, i tried bottled ammonia on my second tank (currently 10 days into the cycle) and the process seems to be going much quicker and easier to control.

2012年9月7日 · Cycling for 30 days with just rock and sand and my rock turns straight purple every time lol here is a pic of a 29g. After the cycle i switch to my normal leds. I know its weird but it works for me and the tank gets established extremely fast imo its because of the low full spectrum ati purple and blue+ bulbs.

This doesn't deactivate nor sterilize nor make it not live, it makes it perfect for use. We have giant threads on why pre rinsing is ideal, you should.
