2015年1月18日 · Is it normal for your sucker meat to basically be mush. Fished green mountain today and cut up frozen sucker yesterday. The meat would be all mushy and separate from the skin on most pieces. Tried to keep my pieces small but maybe larger In size would be better. It still worked as long as I pier ... 2014年7月7日 · I do not gut them first eighther. A lot of times I will get 3 days of fishing out of one sucker. I think the problem is not freezing them fresh and allowing them to thaw (even partially) and refreezing. Between guided trips and personal fishing, I go through a ton of suckers. My trip today caught around 30 fish and we used about 1/2 a sucker.

2010年2月21日 · Yea man you can use sucker meat year round. It works well tipping jigs with a piece of meat when targeting any of the predator fish found here - pike, mackinaw, walleye. With walleye though I tend to stick with minnow heads, but sucker meat also works excellent because they're just looking for that scent.

2016年12月15日 · Sucker meat is expensive, but $5 for a day of fishing is cheap in the big picture. I guess I spend $20 in gas every time I go up for lakers. You can get sucker "free" lots of ways, including leaving a waxie on a teardrop at the bottom of Dillon, West, Dowdy, Antero (when it reopens), etc...

2010年4月13日 · Buying the sucker meat spoils the fun of catching your bait. I for one try to catch my suckers because there isn't a bait shop here in Pueblo and I don't feel like driving to the Springs just for bait but If I don't catch any and I need it, then I will drive. I try to keep a few in my freezer all year long.
