2022年11月26日 · I have a soft shell hoodie from Volcom and Dope. They're similar in quality. The Dope has better finishing like elastic waist and sleeves that prevent snow to enter. The Volcom one seems built out of stronger materials and seems more durable. I really miss the ski pass pocket in the sleeve with the Volcom jacket...

I ride in the PNW and love all my goretex gear and am happy I spent the money. I’m sure Montec and dope gear are ran by snow sport enthusiasts but not pros. Fact is all these brand that have been around for ages like NF, volcom, 686, burton, dakine, quicksilver, black diamond, arc’teryx ect.. are expensive but for good reason.

The majority of skiers buy nice gear expecting the gear to perform at the highest level and also last a long time. If you expect the same from your equipment, Montec and Dope are not the brands you should be considering.

Yes Dope/Montec’s gear is probably “fine”, but you just fell for social media ads from people they give a discount code to so they get 25% off five different kits they can post on their tiktok. They don’t sponsor riders who compete, film, anything.

2023年12月28日 · No, it’s not trash gear. Is there better, more expensive gear out there - absolutely. I ride in the Alps, and dope gear is very common on the slopes. This kind of anti-dope snobbery seems to be a USA thing, and personally I find it hilarious as this same thread pops up on Reddit every few weeks, and always results in the same comments:
