Jul 1, 2013 · Saint-Saen's Concerto in a minor is probably the best cello concerto ever written, hands down. Check out Lalo's Concerto in d minor. That's one of the more epic pieces in the cello repertoire. I'm playing Shostakovich's cello concerto, but the harmony is pretty advanced, as it is a 20th century piece, and extremely dark.

They don't take into account how or why those transformations happened, and are trying to fill a need that no one is asking for. Most electric cello music tries to play electric guitar music on a cello. It doesn't work very well.
