2021年1月24日 — I asked Specialized Warsaw. Vado SL 4.0 EQ has the lights always on. I have to correct @Court though. Vado SL is the Class 3 e-bike in the United States only (where lights on are not mandatory). Elsewhere in the world Vado SL is a regular (25 or 32 km/h) e-bike. Lights on are only required at night in regular e-bikes and bikes in Europe.

Maybe, as suggested, the answer is N+1, meaning trick out the Vado SL as a sort of gravel bike, and get a full suspension off road MTB. I am stuck to LBS brands, at least for the E-bike.

2020年6月10日 — On the controller switch, the button that the regular Vado used for the lights is now a walk-assist button. there's another button, too--a turbo button that instantly puts the bike in Level 3 assist. So, provided you're okay just riding in unassisted mode, you could turn the bike all the way off and ride without lights, I suppose.
