Sony is reportedly giving up on its Spider-Man universe, which includes universally panned films such as Venom and Morbius, as Kraven the Hunter is projected for a worse opening weekend than the disastrous Madame Web.

A hero is nothing without the villains they face, and few rogues’ galleries are more compelling than Spider-Man’s. The pantheon of baddies who’ve gone toe-to-toe with the friendly neighborhood webhead is so extensive and memorable that many of them have gone on to star in their own solo comic-book series.

Kraven the Hunter is set to release in theaters on Dec. 13. It will mark the third film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe released this year after Madame Web and Venom: The Last Dance. However, Sony will pause the spinoff films after Kraven the Hunter,
