The Christmas classic "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," will be broadcast on NBC this Friday for the first time in five decades. NBC first broadcast the stop-motion special in 1964 when Rudolph's nose first blinked on television screens.

The iconic Christmas TV classic "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" will return to its originating network for the first time in a half-century after its debut 60 years ago. On Dec. 6, 1964, the Rankin-Bass Animated Entertainment hour-long claymation special debuted on NBC.

The claymation special will air on December 6, the very same date it premiered on back in 1964 as a part of the General Electric Fantasy Hour. Daly went on to say that “ Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is the longest running holiday special in TV history.”

A 10-minute adaptation of the beloved Christmas stop-motion classic special will be shown in the 4D Theater at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk.

Everyone's favorite Christmas specials will be hard to miss in 2024, with several available on streaming services and free broadcasting channels.
