Words fail to describe the feeling when you see the Villa La Rotonda for the first time. Awe, serenity, reverence, are some of the words that come to mind. If there is such a thing as a perfect bui… VoyagerAimerSourire的完整评论

Would like to see walking map to La Rotonda. Where it starts etc. Years ago my daughter and I thought we were on a walk which looped back to the city but we got lost and ended up in someone's field. Have had dreams about completing this the right way.

Google maps is probably the best way to see a walking map. I don't recommend walking from Vinenza city center or even from the train station - it's a far walk from either. There is a bus which will drop you off on the main street near La Rotonda, then you have about a 10 minute uphill walk to the property. Taxi or Uber would also be a good idea.
Is La Rotonda walkable from Vicenza centro? If so, how long? If not, how would we get there without a car. Thank you.

La Rotonda is about a mile and a half from the Vicenza train station and about 2 miles from Teatro Olimpico. Rick Steves' Italy book says you can take bus #8 or a taxi to La Rotonda from town. Be sure to visit Villa Valmarana ai Nani when you are finished with La Rotonda. It is about a 10 minute walk north of La Rotonda. Walking or riding a bus or a taxi, La Rotonda is just off the main drive heading south out of Vicenza. You can see it from the road. Enjoy.
