Yes you can hire a private power boat. I am not sure of the cost now as it is been a while now. You can get the power boat from Lumbini Park area and also the necklace road area

Boat journey from Lumbini Park to statue is about 50 rupees.... No entry fee at the venue....

Entry is from the Necklace road (Tank Bund) . Take a ride from their to the pedestal. You have to buy the entry ticket and for the ride.

You require 15 mins to go from shore to this statue by boat. Statue stands on a rock solid structure which is approx 15 ft in height, length and width. Statue height is approx 58 ft. It is largest statue of Lord Buddha. During its erection, it fell in the lake killing 10 people. later after day and night efforts, statue was lifted from lake bed and erected. it was blessed and cleaned with mantras by Dalai Lama.
